Working method
Every ElectroWood project develops differently, but the process normally begins with an idea and the selection of the material that can express it.
A commission may begin with a required size or function, a particular visual concept, an existing interior, or simply a conversation. The objective is not to reproduce an existing product but to establish the character of the new piece.
Individual slabs are selected for their dimensions, grain, edges, fractures, knots and natural character. Because every piece of timber is different, the material itself influences the final composition.
The design evolves around the selected timber — the geometry of the piece, resin areas, transparent or illuminated sections, glass, embedded objects, surface effects and the construction of the legs or supporting structure.
Where appropriate, resin and other materials are introduced as part of the artwork — colour, transparency, phosphorus or UV-reactive effects, lighting, glass, metal or other embedded elements, depending on the project.
The individual elements are brought together, shaped, finished and refined until the piece works both visually and structurally. The final finish is chosen to complement the timber and the intended use of the work.
ElectroWood is based in the UK and can arrange delivery or export worldwide. Transport, specialist handling and installation requirements are considered individually for each project.
